Floating Lake Surface Aerator for Lakes up to 12,000m².
Floating surface aerators are an excellent solution for managing water quality in nutrient-rich, stagnant water bodies. Commonly utilized in private lakes, golf course lakes, farm ponds, aquaculture, horticulture, waste management, and fish farming, these aerators help maintain and improve water quality by providing essential dissolved oxygen. The aerator features a large, high-volume propeller that mixes water and air, releasing oxygenated water from the top outlet in a dynamic, foaming boil.

Description
Floating aerators provide an effective solution for circulating, mixing, and oxygenating large bodies of water. By enhancing aeration, these units help:
- Limit algae growth
- Prevent water stagnation
- Promote healthy biological activity, which supports water clarity and quality.
The dissolved oxygen environment they create is also essential for aquatic life. Floating aerators can infuse up to 3 pounds of oxygen per hour per horsepower under optimal conditions. These aerators are ideal for both deep and shallow water bodies, such as private lakes, golf course ponds, and fish farming ponds. They are easy to install, operate, and can run continuously or during specific periods (e.g., warm afternoons or overnight).
Saltwater Applications
Our floating aerators are designed for both freshwater and saltwater environments, making them suitable for lakes, ponds, marinas, and saltwater lagoons. They come pre-fitted with a protective Zinc Anode on the rotor shaft to safeguard the unit from corrosion and electrolysis in saltwater. The Zinc Anode, acting as a sacrificial component, protects the stainless steel parts through cathodic protection. It requires replacement once it has reduced to half its original size or turns white, especially in saltwater environments. For freshwater, regular checks should still be performed.
Maintenance and Cleaning
These aerators are designed for durability, featuring mechanical seals and long-life bearings, and require minimal maintenance. A general inspection and cleaning once or twice a year is usually sufficient. However, units in saltwater should have their Zinc Anode inspected quarterly and replaced as needed. In hard water areas, soaking the motor assembly in a descaling solution may be necessary to remove limescale buildup.
If the aerator is not in use during winter, it's recommended to remove and store it to prevent freezing around the rotor.
Water Quality Enhancement
For improved water quality, we recommend using ByoFix Lake Bacteria (1kg) in conjunction with your aerator. This product helps increase and maintain beneficial aerobic bacteria levels, further enhancing water clarity and health.
