Horizontal water circulators are an excellent solution for mixing and aerating stagnant water, as well as clearing areas affected by accumulated debris and floating weed rafts in both freshwater and saltwater environments.

Engineered for continuous operation in demanding conditions, these industrial-grade Clean Current "push pumps" are highly effective at moving water over long distances. They can be mounted just below the water surface, making them ideal for mixing and agitating stagnant areas in marinas, canals, narrow channels, bays, and boat mooring pontoons—especially in locations shielded from natural circulation and aeration by wind and wave action.

These circulators can be dock-mounted to a solid structure or suspended beneath a float for open water installations. The high-performance motor is encased in a stainless steel canister, and a sacrificial zinc anode is fitted to the propeller shaft to prevent corrosion in saltwater. A bladed propeller guard at the front ensures that the propeller remains free from snagging in weedy areas.

For optimal performance, the motor should be positioned approximately 18 inches (45 cm) below the water surface. Floating units come with the motor suspended at this optimal depth, while dock-mount units can be adjusted to the correct depth. The ideal pumping angle is horizontal, parallel to the lake bed, to minimize disturbance of floor sediment.

Dock Mounting

An adjustable steel mounting bracket is designed to be fixed to a flat, hard surface, such as a jetty or pontoon, using securing brackets to position the motor at the correct direction and angle of flow. This setup requires a structure like a dock, jetty, or bridge to mount the steel fixing bracket. A metal pipe (approximately 1" in outside diameter, not supplied) can be secured vertically in the bracket, extending over the side of the structure to suspend the motor beneath the water surface.

Float Mounting

For applications where there is no structure to mount the circulator too, these can also be supplied with a float, which enables the unit to be installed in open water and anchored down with tight tether ropes (supplied) and anchor weights (not supplied). The circulator motor is mounted horizontally to a steel bracket on the underside of the float, with strain relief chains connected at the front end of the float to alleviate thrust when the motor is running. Floating circulators are easy to relocate to other areas.
