The OASE BioTec ScreenMatic² ECO Sets offer complete filtration solutions designed for ponds of various sizes and fish densities. Each set includes a BioTec ScreenMatic² 145000 filter, an AquaMax Eco Pump, and a Bitron UV clarifier, specifically configured to ensure efficient water turnover and tackle algae, solid particles, and soluble waste. This results in consistently clear, healthy pond water.
The BioTec ScreenMatic² 145000 is a large filtration system equipped with an automatic waste screen, layered filter foams, and zeolite media for comprehensive filtration. Water flows over a 300-micron screening belt that captures organic waste, and a sensor automatically triggers cleaning cycles when necessary, depositing waste into a collection tray. Below the screen, 18 graded filter sponges provide extensive biological filtration, while 14.5kg of zeolite absorbs excess nutrients and gases.
The AquaMax Eco Premium 21000 pump ensures a high water turnover rate, handling solids up to 11mm in size, while the Bitron 120W UV clarifier features a self-cleaning rotor, bypass mechanism, and visual indicator, effectively treating algae on entry.
Performance Data
The following pond volumes are recommended for filtration setups where the filter outlet is positioned roughly 1 meter above the pond water level, with an approximate 5-meter length of 1½" diameter hose between the pump and outlet. These volumes assume the use of a Bitron ultraviolet clarifier (UVC) to optimize water clarity and filtration efficiency:
- For ponds with fish: Recommended maximum pond volume is lower to ensure sufficient filtration and control of nutrient levels, preventing excessive algae growth and maintaining a healthy environment for the fish.
- For ornamental ponds (without fish): Higher recommended maximum pond volume due to fewer nutrient challenges from fish waste, allowing efficient filtration of larger water bodies.

Pond Turnover Rates: The rate at which water should circulate in your pond depends on stocking levels, impacting the pump flow rate needed:
- Ornamental Ponds (no fish): Circulate pond volume every 6-8 hours.
- Average-Stocked Ponds (up to 1 kg fish per 1000 litres): Circulate every 4 hours.
- Heavily Stocked Ponds with Koi (up to 2 kg fish per 1000 litres): Circulate every 2 hours.

Pump Flow Rate: Pump flow rate, measured in litres per hour (lph) or litres per minute (lpm), depends on the vertical lift from pond surface to outlet and on system friction losses. Using larger-diameter hose reduces friction, and losses across filter media increase as they collect debris.
