It is particularly effective in water bodies at least 8 ft (2.4 m) deep, though it can operate in shallower waters at reduced efficiency. This system is ideal for environments where surface disturbance must be minimized, such as in decorative lakes or sensitive fisheries, providing aeration without significant evaporation or noise.
