SchlixX – Effective Sludge Digestion for Lakes

Excess nutrients, particularly phosphate, contribute to both algal blooms and sludge buildup in lakes. The organic portion of sludge also stores free nutrients, further promoting algae growth. By eliminating sludge, SchlixX not only increases the water capacity of lakes but also reduces the likelihood of harmful green and blue-green algae blooms.

SchlixX works by releasing oxygen into the sludge, creating two primary benefits:

• Phosphate becomes insolubly bound to form apatite, reducing the available nutrients for algae.
• Micro-organisms in the sludge use the oxygen to naturally decompose organic material.

SchlixX continues to break down sludge for up to 8 weeks after application, potentially eliminating the need for dredging.
